Courteney Cox: Jennifer Aniston Would Be an “Amazing” Director

Thursday, Apr 22, 2010

If Courteney Cox is your friend, she’ll not only be there for you, she’ll also have nice things to say about you as well. Especially if you’re Jennifer Aniston.

When asked about her BFF’s comments about wanting to work behind the camera, the Cougar Town actress tells E! News: “She’s already directed a short film [Room 10 costarring Robin Wright and Kris Kristofferson]. She’s amazing. It would be great.”

Jen recently revealed to The Sun: “I have a project in development I’m going to direct. After you get enough movies under your belt you sit back and go, ‘What’s next?’ It’s getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.”

Of course, if Jen finds herself in need of a leading lady, we’re guessing she probably won’t have to look very far.

Happy Earth Day: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox in dolphin PSA

Thursday, Apr 22, 2010

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Jason Mraz, Hayden Panettiere, Paul Rudd, Robin Williams and many more celebrities appear in a new public service announcement from the creators of Oscar-winning documentary “The Cove.” The stars have come together in an effort to raise awareness about the brutal slaughter of dolphins off the coast of Japan.

“The Cove” producer Fisher Stevens reached out to friends like Panettiere, who appears in the film, and to other famous fans of the movie. In honor of Earth Day, the stars are asking you to go to TakePart.com to learn how to write leaders like President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Japanese authorities and ask for the slaughter practices to be changed.

Panettiere has spent some of her recent time off from “Heroes” in the fishing village of Taiji, Japan, to peacefully discuss income options that don’t involve animal cruelty. It was a risky trip, considering the last time she visited Taiji, a warrant was issued for her arrest when she interfered with a hunt by paddling out into the ocean and bodily protecting the dolphins.

Jennifer Aniston Wanted for ‘Cougar Town’

Thursday, Apr 22, 2010

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox teaming up on TV again? Sheryl Crow says she’d love to see it.

The singer wants Aniston to follow her lead and guest star in “Cougar Town,” according to People. “She’d be great at anything. I mean, my gosh. Who wouldn’t want to see Jennifer Aniston and Courteney again?” Crow said. The Grammy winner, who is guest starring in three episodes, admits she would be intimidated by a repairing of the former “Friends” stars, but would enjoy the chance to work with them. “I’d be way out of my league but how lovely,” she said.

Aniston has not commented about a possible stint on “Cougar Town,” but said recently she wants to try her hand at directing films. “I have a project in development I’m going to direct. After you get enough movies under your belt you sit back and go, ‘What’s next?’,” Aniston said. “It’s getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.”

Courteney Cox reveals ageing fear

Tuesday, Apr 6, 2010

Courteney Cox has admitted that ageing has been a struggle.

The 45-year-old actress, best known for her role as Monica Geller on Friends, claimed that the last decade of her life has been a haze.

She told Reveal: “Ageing is hard and it just gets harder. I don’t remember anything about turning 40 at all, because I had just given birth to my daughter Coco and I couldn’t believe I had a kid.”

The star continued: “Let me tell you – what was hard though – turning 45. That one struck a nerve.”

Cox also suggested that her age means she no longer cares about her looks, adding: “I get hungry all the time. I never say, ‘Tomorrow I will try to look good for something’.

“It just doesn’t work that way for me. I have to suck it in a little tighter. I’m not that disciplined.”

Courteney Cox Refused To Use Body Double On “Cougar Town”

Tuesday, Apr 6, 2010

Courteney Cox gets better with age every year, and she is certainly not afraid to show it. The former Monica Gellar has recently refused to use a body double on the set of her ABC show “Cougar Town,” instead opting to use herself to show audiences what a “real” woman looks like at the age of 45.

Even though the actress is perhaps envied by millions of women who tune in to her show every week for her flawless physique, Cox still admits to having her own hang ups about her looks. In an earlier episode, the star insisted on filming her own stretch marks and arm fat in order to highlight such issues that most women her age face.

According to the Toronto Sun, Cox says: “I think it was an important thing to do. This show talks about real things and real experiences, so I think I had to. I know my friends Jennifer Aniston was shocked I did it.”

She continues, “Some people may not want to show parts of them that are not the very best and that’s alright. I decided to show, and I don’t care. It was important to show the real side of being 40.”

The mother-of-one also says that she does her best to stick to a good exercise routine to maintain her Hollywood body. During her “Friends” years, Cox appeared obsessively thin, whereas nowadays, just like Aniston, she maintains a healthy and fit frame.

“I try really hard,” Cox says. “I walk, I run, I do the elliptical, I do band work, weight and dance aerobics. I play tennis and I eat really well. But I was also lit very well. Don’t mistake Hollywood lighting for reality!”

Courteney Cox To Be Presented With Women in Film & Lucy Award

Monday, Apr 5, 2010

The spotlight will shine on Universal co-chairman Donna Langley, actresses Courteney Cox and Zoe Saldana and director of photography Cynthia Pusheck at the 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards.

The annual benefit dinner, which supports Women in Film, Los Angeles, will be held June 1 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City.

“At the dawn of a new decade, it is heartening to acknowledge careers marked by independent vision, daring creative choices and unique talent,” WIF LA president Jane Fleming said in announcing the honorees.

Iris Grossman, the group’s president emeritus, will chair the awards.

Langley is to receive the Crystal Award in recognition of her efforts in expanding the role of women in the entertainment industry. She was named co-chair of Universal in October and with Uni chairman Adam Fogelson oversees the studio’s business and production strategies.

Langley joined Universal as senior vp production in 2001 and four years later was upped to president of production. She has had a hand in steering such films as “American Gangster,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Knocked Up,” “Wanted,” “Mamma Mia!” and “It’s Complicated.” Before Uni, she worked at New Line.

Cox will be presented with the Lucy Award, presented in association with the Lucille Ball Estate and given to an individual who has enhanced the perception of women through the medium of television. Cox played Monica Gellar on NBC’s “Friends” and stars in the ABC sitcom “Cougar Town.”

Her film credits include “Bedtime Stories,” “The Longest Yard” and the “Scream” trilogy. She recently directed her first film, a short titled “The Monday Before Thanksgiving,” and through Coquette, the production company she founded in 2003 with her husband, David Arquette, she has taken on producing roles on the TV series “Dirt” and “Mix It Up” and horror film “The Tripper.”

The recipient of the MaxMara Face of the Future Award, Saldana starred last year in “Star Trek” and “Avatar.” She next appears in Screen Gems’ “Death at a Funeral” and Warner Bros.’ “The Losers.”

Pusheck, this year’s winner of the Kodak Vision Award, has served as director of photography on ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.” She began her cinematography career assisting in the camera departments of such films as “Patriot Games” and “Hook.” After graduating from the AFI cinematography program in 1995, she shot the indie features “Three Days of Rain” and “Loving Annabelle.” Her TV work includes “CSI: Miami” and “Close to Home.”
