No ‘secret’ ‘Friends’ script from Jennifer Aniston & Courteney Cox

Friday, Jun 18, 2010

Jennifer Aniston’s publicist has dismissed reports the actress is working with her former co-star Courteney Cox to bring their hit TV show “Friends” to the big screen.

The pals were alleged to be writing a top-secret script to transform the hit sitcom into a movie, six years after the series wrapped, according to the National Enquirer.

The publication also claimed Aniston was poised to direct the film, and is currently “campaigning” to get the project approved by the series’ creators and her former co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.

However, a rep for the actress has shrugged off the rumors, telling GossipCop.com, “There is no secret ‘Friends’ script nor is Jennifer campaigning with the creators.”

Busy Phillips Talks Cougar Town

Wednesday, Jun 9, 2010

It has been rumoured that Taye Diggs will guest star on the new season of Cougar Town. When E!Online caught up with Busy yesterday she gave gossip and spoke about Courteney.Read more below.

It’s true, Bill Lawrence and Courteney Cox are talking about it,” Busy told us, “and I know that Stephen McPherson, who runs ABC, has said whatever they decide to do he’s on board with.”

Busy continued: “They just feel like the name Cougar Town is not indicative of what the show became at the end of the series, and I agree with them.” Ditto that! “I don’t know what changing the title will do—maybe open it up to a whole new audience?”

A new audience better be down with the same ol’ Laurie, because Busy revealed some season two secrets about her alterna-self.

“Laurie got a serious boyfriend and she’s going to continue with her serious relationship,” Busy explained. “But I have a feeling she’s going to feel too hemmed in and she’ll have to go a little crazy again. She and Jules are going to have to have a real pow-wow about the fact that Laurie slept with Grayson early in the season.”

Watch out. Courteney is kind of a badass. “I am not looking forward to that,” Busy teased. “I like Courteney, and I don’t want to have to fight with her.”

Courteney Cox: Why We’re Getting Rid of Cougar Town

Thursday, Jun 3, 2010

Cougar Town is doing well for a newborn show, and they’re already looking forward to their second season on ABC . But we hear whispers that that the show’s name is going to be changed.

Hollyscoop previously reported that the show’s creator Bill Lawrence wants to change the name to attract a larger audience. He mentioned also that the show has turned more into an ensemble cast, and really doesn’t have anything to do with Cougars!

Hollyscoop talked with two of the show’s stars—Courteney Cox and Busy Phillips—at the the Women In Film event last night, and they told us their thoughts on the name change.

Courteney told us EXCLUSIVELY, “I don’t know if it’s going to happen or not. It’s not a rumor we have really been thinking about it. I don’t know if we will. Maybe we don’t need to.”

She also added, “The show speaks for itself. It’s a true family ensemble.”

Busy Phillips also told us it’s all up to Lawrence what happens to Cougar Town. “Mr. Bill Lawrence has a mind of his own and will do what he really wants,” she explained.

Phillips went on, “I think there is a certain demographic of people, a certain type of person who is maybe changing the channel because they don’t like connotation of Cougar Town.”

“I think they are missing out on a really great fun show about friend and family,” she added, “Instead of about of an old lady who is trying to bang young guys which A) Courteney is not old and B) There are no young guys.”

Hey, keeping a show on TV these days is tough, so if a name change will make close-minded people tune in, then so be it!

“This show is not just for women. It’s for women and men. It’s funny. It’s crazy. It’s kooky and you know it’s heartfelt and it’s all of that. So… we don’t people to get misled by the word ‘Cougar Town.’” Courteney explained. “It’s just about trying to get what the real show is about and we may do it or we may not.”
