Courteney Cox has claimed that a Friends movie is unlikely to ever be made.
The Scream 4 actress, who played house-proud foodie Monica Gellar in the NBC sitcom, argued that reuniting the cast for a big-screen adventure would be a logistical nightmare.
When asked by The Mail On Sunday whether a Friends movie would ever hit cinema screens, Cox replied: “No. I just can’t see that happening. I mean, I’m not in control of it and if I was, we’d have already done it.
“But it involves so many different people’s lives and schedules that I just don’t know how you’d get it all together. So no, I don’t see it happening.”
Despite admitting to losing contact somewhat with her Friends co-stars, Cox confirmed that she had been approached by former colleague Lisa Kudrow to appear on the US version of Who Do You Think You Are?, which the 47-year-old executive produces.
Cox teased: “Lisa’s asked me to be on it; apparently they’ve found something in my family history which they won’t tell me because they like to surprise the person. It’s an amazing show and I’ll probably do it – it’s just trying to find the time.”
Cox previously confessed that she has “daydreamed” about making a Friends movie.
Her co-stars Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer have both rejected suggestions that a Friends movie is close to being greenlit.

Courteney Cox: ‘Friends movie won’t happen’
Did Courteney Cox Want More Friends? “I Wish We Hadn’t Stopped”
I’ll get to the end of Friends and Cougar Town finale scoop in a sec, but first let’s talk Courteney Cox and Scream 4.
Most of the cast won’t reveal if they’re signed on for sequels 5 and 6 because that sort of gives away whether they’re killed in this new fourth installment.
However, Cox will tell ya…
“I’m actually not,” she admitted to me yesterday while promoting the newly hatched Ghost Face killer flick, out April 15. “I mean, I can’t really say, but you know she could always die and I can always come back in a dream. But if I didn’t die, you know, it’ll just depend on if it all comes together.”
A true Hollywood veteran who’s been down this road before, she gives an answer that leaves all the doors open.
It’s been many years since Cox played Gale Weathers, but she didn’t mind going back. “I love Gale Weathers,” she said. “I love her tenacity. She’s just a strong-willed woman. And I think she’s a little fame-hungry and power-hungry and that’s why it’s so fun to play her.”
She’s also a bit envious with how “selfish” Gale could be. “I’m not in real life,” Cox smiled. “I wish I was a little more selfish.”
As for Cougar Town, there’s a big one-hour season finale coming in May. Now, it’s not a musical episode. “We’re dealing with something pretty heavy,” Cox teased. “You haven’t seen it yet, but someone wants to have kids and someone doesn’t. That’s all I can tell you about that.”
She quickly added, “I hope I don’t get in trouble for that.”
We’d like to assume she’s talking about Jules and Grayson (Josh Hopkins). And with that in mind, will those two ever get married? “I would say one day,” Cox said. “I think that as long as the audience is liking it and it’s working out, they’ll keep it going and they’ll be dealing with real-life issues.”
Cox says she has no timeline for Cougar Town, but would like it to go for at least five seasons.
“Ten’s a long time, but I wish we hadn’t stopped,” Cox said referring to Friends. “It would’ve been nice to do 11.”
What could they have done? “Oh my gosh. I don’t know, but I was watching an episode the other and day and it still holds up! Just holds up!”
Perhaps it’s time for that Friends movie. What do you think? Should there be a Friends flick? Sound off below.

Courteney Cox: I’ve daydreamed about a Friends reunion
Courteney Cox has thought about reuniting the cast of Friends for another show or movie.
The hit US show was broadcast from 1994 to 2004.
‘We’ve daydreamed about [a reunion],’ she says.
But Courteney – who played Monica Bing – admits the programme is unlikely to be revived.
‘I don’t think it’s going to happen,’ she tells Us Weekly. ‘A lot of things would have to be just right for it to work.’
No ‘secret’ ‘Friends’ script from Jennifer Aniston & Courteney Cox
Jennifer Aniston’s publicist has dismissed reports the actress is working with her former co-star Courteney Cox to bring their hit TV show “Friends” to the big screen.
The pals were alleged to be writing a top-secret script to transform the hit sitcom into a movie, six years after the series wrapped, according to the National Enquirer.
The publication also claimed Aniston was poised to direct the film, and is currently “campaigning” to get the project approved by the series’ creators and her former co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
However, a rep for the actress has shrugged off the rumors, telling GossipCop.com, “There is no secret ‘Friends’ script nor is Jennifer campaigning with the creators.”
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Have “Friends” On-Screen Reunion Plan

“Sex and The City” did it. “24” is going to do it. “The Sopranos” may do it.
So is it possible that 90’s sitcom “Friends ” might also find its way to the big screen?
“We’ve got a good idea. There is a good way to get us all together,” Courteney Cox told Pop Tarts on Tuesday night before being honored by Women in Film at 2010’s Crystal + Lucy Awards. “Jennifer (Aniston) told me, or someone told her, or she came up with the idea herself. I don’t think it will ever happen, but it would be a great way to get us all together!”
