Busy Philipps Praises Cougar Town Co-star Courteney Cox

Tuesday, Jun 29, 2010

Busy Philipps has described her Cougar Town co-star Courteney Cox as “incredibly open”.

Philipps explained that Cox has taught her a lot during the time they have worked together.

“Comedically, you can’t buy the kind of experience she got when she was on Friends,” she said. “But seeing how she brings that into her producing of the show too, how she’s very hands-on and how that works for her, has been really rewarding and informing.”

Philipps continued: “She’s not just a producer on our show in title only. She give script notes, she’s in the editing room all the time, she’s always watching cuts of the show.”

However, Philipps explained that she feels comfortable working with Cox even though the star also produces the programme.

“When we’re working together as actors, we’re just working together as actors,” she said. “She’s more of a creative producer, more that than a cracking the whip type. She’s an incredibly open person. I think because she was such a big part of such a big show for years, she decided she couldn’t hide anything, because it would come out anyway.”

“Scream 4” filming scheduled to get under way

Monday, Jun 28, 2010

Don’t be surprised to see cast members from “Scream 4” around the area in the coming days.

A publicity representative for the movie had earlier said shooting was scheduled to start today in Ann Arbor. And director Wes Craven said on his Twitter page Friday, “Last week before shooting. Monday is D-Day.”

A commenter on an earlier story reported seeing some of the cast members at Prickly Pear on Main Street.

The celebrity-spotting website “On Location Vacations” notes that former TV host Nancy O’Dell tweeted that she has a scene in the movie, and included a photo from the set.

No specific filming sites have been announced publicly.

The stars of the movie include Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette from the first three “Scream” movies. According to the Internet Movie Data Base, the cast also includes Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Lauren Graham and Rory Culkin.

Meanwhile, in other “Scream 4” news, Hollwood.com reports that Lake Bell has dropped out of the cast due to scheduling conflicts.

The “Scream” franchise has been a huge success, combining slasher-movie plots with tongue-in-cheek humor. “Scream 4” is set for release April 15.

“Scream 4” isn’t the only movie in the area; Richard Gere and Topher Grace were in town Friday working on “The Double.” And a Civil War movie is reportedly shooting outside Saline.

Scream 4 Cast Roundup

Friday, Jun 25, 2010

Since news right now is pretty slow, and Cougar Town over for the season we’re all getting pretty excited for Scream 4 that begins filming in Michigan next week. So I thought it would be interesting to list the characters/actors that have been confirmed for the movie. Interesting cast dont you think? There were rumours that Jamie Kennedy may reprise his role as Randy despite being killed on in Scream 2,but it appears that this was nothing but a rumour,as Jamie is not in the Cast list.

  • Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott
  • David Arquette as Sheriff Dewey Riley
  • Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers Riley
  • Emma Roberts as Jill Kessler; Sidney’s cousin. She is described as “Pretty in an ingenue way. Smart, strong. A little goofy, but she makes it sexy. Full of contradictions, but instantly likeable.” She is supposedly not close with her cousin Sidney.
  • Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed; Jill’s best friend. “Cute and quirky, was a tomboy until a year ago… now she’s alternative, and sexy. She’s a pop culture, horror aficionado,” and “a nerdy film geek”.
  • Rory Culkin as Charlie Walker; “Messy cute… friends with Jill and Kirby. Likens himself to Randy Meeks without the geek part, but no so such luck… he’s a geek. He may have a crush on Jill, but he’ll never admit to it if he does.”
  • Lauren Graham as Kate Kessler, Jill’s mother.
  • Nico Tortorella as Trevor Sheldon, A Pretty high school jock.”
  • Anthony Anderson as Detective Hoss, New school cop.
  • Marielle Jaffe as Olivia Morrison, pretty and hot, is part of Jill, Kirby, Trevor and Charlie group.

‘Scream 4? to shoot flashback scene at Woodworth Middle School in Dearborn

Friday, Jun 25, 2010

While most of Scream 4 will be filmed in Ann Arbor, MI, we’ve just learned there will be a flashback scene shot at Woodworth Middle School, 4951 Ternes St Dearborn, MI.

Over the next couple of weeks, crews will be reconstructing the school’s entrance for the scene. Reportedly, the school was chosen because it closely matches a building used in the earlier films.

We already know that Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are returning for Scream 4, but the prospect of a flashback makes us wonder if any other characters will be returning? (I’m holding out for a Joshua Jackson cameo!)

The movie begins filming in Ann Arbor, MI next week.

Courteney Cox’s Poolside R&R

Thursday, Jun 24, 2010

According to People Magazine,Courteney was spotted relaxing at a pool in Beverly Hills. Birthday treat from David perhaps?

Courteney Cox, enjoying a little R&R – and L.A. sunshine – in her poolside cabana at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. The Cougar Town star spent time with some girlfriends, enjoying salad and other light fare from the hotel’s Oliverio Restaurant. The actress looked “very happy and relaxed,” a source says.

Cougar Town: Will Courteney Cox Really Change the Name of the Show?!

Cougar Town may not be the right title for Courteney Cox‘s hit comedy, but so be it.

Despite all the chatter that the show will be renamed, costar Dan Byrd tells me…

“I think it seemed like a very real possibility when we wrapped up the first season,” Byrd said last night at the Maui Film Festival screening of his flick Norman, in which he stars as a high schooler who pretends to have cancer. “But I think the problem they’ve run into is that they can’t come up with a better name to really justify doing that and the repercussions that come along with it.”

Perhaps it could be called The Show Formerly Known As Cougar Town?

“Yeah, and then we can just be a symbol,” Byrd cracked. “It could just be a picture of a paw.”

In other words, the name of the show isn’t going anywhere. Byrd said, “If I was a betting man—which I am, so I’m not sure why I just used that expression—I would say we’re probably going to stick with what we got.”
