Lisa Kudrow’s ‘Web Therapy’ Back For Season 2, Courteney Cox Jumps In

Wednesday, Jun 24, 2009

Lisa Kudrow’s Streamy-nominated web series Web Therapy is coming back for a second season today on LStudio.com. Kudrow returns as online therapist Fiona Wallice known for her curt, questionably-legal three-minute patient sessions via iChat.

A second season, even for a web series, means plenty of notable guest stars, including Kudrow’s former Friends co-star Courteney Cox, who joins the cast for a few “sessions.” Her three-episode run will debut on July 6th. Also on the chat-couch this time are Alan Cumming, Steven Weber, Julie Claire, Dan Bucatinsky, and Victor Garber.

Kudrow has apparently been loving the chance to call her own shots with the project, as she once again works with producing partners Dan Bucatinsky and Don Roos (who also directs the series) at Is it or Isn’t It Entertainment.

“Web Therapy allowed me to work with some incredibly talented people on a project that provided rare creative freedom,” said Kudrow. “The ability to write, produce and act in a web series with such high production value is incredibly rewarding.”

The series has been the flagship of Lexus’ L Studio content portal since its launch last September, which was recently redesigned with a cleaner interface and better social media integration. The series is being distributed through YouTube, Hulu and iTunes as well, which is a probably a good thing seeing that traffic to the branded site has been minimal for the past few months.

At this point there’s no official word whether a second season of Amy B. Harris’ urban dog lovers comedy Puppy Love is in the works, despite rumors that it is.

It’s hugs and kisses all round for Courteney Cox’s happy family

Wednesday, Jun 10, 2009

Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette looked like Hollywood’s happiest family yesterday as they shared hugs and kisses with their daughter Coco.

The adorable four-year-old, who had her hair in pigtails, showered her famous parents with affection during an outing in Los Angeles.

Courteney, 44, and David, 37, who will celebrate their ten-year wedding anniversary this month, revelled in the attention from their only child.

The couple have built one of the industry’s strongest marriages.

‘We just really like each other,’ Courteney has said.

‘He gets a kick out of me, and I get a kick out of him. We’re a good balance for each other. We’re a great team.’

But their relationship hasn’t been without its hiccups, and the former Friends star has admitted to seeking help from a counsellor on occasion.

Courteney was on a break from filming her new television series Cougar Town, in which she plays a fortysomething divorcee single mother struggling to find love in a small Florida town.

When her character realises most of the men her own age are taken, she starts dating a younger man.

The actress will no doubt be hoping the new show is more successful than her last effort, Dirt.

The show, which starred Courteney as the editor of a weekly celebrity magazine, was axed after two series.

The second season of the show was shortened by the Writers’ Guild of America strike and viewer figures slipped to just over one million per episode, prompting the decision to cancel it.

Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette will both be returning in a fourth Scream movie, according to director Wes Craven

Tuesday, Jun 9, 2009

Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette will both be returning in a fourth Scream movie, according to director Wes Craven.

Wes, 69, is set to direct the fourth installment in the horror film series and admitted Courteney and David will be returning but other characters will not.

He said: “I’ve been told, and I don’t think they’ll mind if I say this, the deals on David Arquette and Courteney are virtually set. I believe everybody else will be new.”

The slasher-film director also said he “laughed” at the Scary Movie films, which poked fun at the Scream trilogy.

He said: “I laughed but it was also annoying because somebody used my very shots and I didn’t have any financial participation in it!

“It was less than a year after we’d finished Scream 3 that that came out.

“You just have to keep moving in Hollywood because somebody will be right on your heels making parodies of what you’ve just done.”

Craven on the Upcoming Scream Sequels

Tuesday, Jun 9, 2009

Wes Craven is out and about, chatting it up with Digital Spy about his thoughts regarding Scream 4 and the “new trilogy.”

He tells the site his stance remains secure on whether he’ll return to the director’s chair. Until he reads a script – which will happen possibly in August – he’s not open or closed to coming back. Craven also reveals that the “deals are set” for David Arquette and Courteney Cox-Arquette to reprise their roles. Everyone else in the cast “will be new.”

Regarding all of this “reboot” talk, Craven says: “I don’t think it’s a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, ‘Remember, it’s not just Scream 4, it’s Scream 5 and 6. So I guess he has a trilogy in mind.”

Avon calling Courteney Cox

Friday, Jun 5, 2009

Courteney Cox has always had that fresh, clean look. No wonder she was cast as Monica, the neat-freak member of the crew on Friends.

So it was high time the actress, 44, came out with her own fresh, clean fragrance with Avon, called Spotlight.

The Alabama native — who next appears as a recently divorced single mother in ABC’s comedy Cougar Town — knows about spotlights. Cox, who is married to Scream costar David Arquette, has been trolling Hollywood for more than 20 years, starting out as a flight attendant in As the World Turns in 1984.

Later that year, Cox did an unforgettable boogie with Bruce Springsteen in his Dancing in the Dark video.

Now like many of her peers ( Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley), Cox is the face of a fragrance.

”I’ve been in the spotlight for much of my life — on TV, films and at the variety of events that go along with being an actress,” she tells The Miami Herald. “I like a scent that captures the thrill of being the center of attention and having all eyes on you.”

A scent can do that?

Perfumes ”can make you feel empowered and special,” she says, “and I think women need a little of that in their life!”

With all of mom’s frilly, nice smelling stuff around, daughter Coco, 4, is going girly.

”She’s snooping around a bit more,” Cox says, “but she hasn’t officially tested anything yet.”

How do you juggle all that you do?

”It’s tough,” she admits, but “I’m very fortunate that my job allows for me to have a team help me get ready for events and nights out, but on an ordinary day it’s much simpler. All it takes is a little lipstick, curling my lashes, mascara, blush and perfume.”
