‘Friends’ Central Perk comes to UK
Warner TV will recreate the famous Central Perk coffee shop from hit sitcom Friends in London later this week.
The replica hangout will be based on London’s Broadwick Street, Soho, from September 24 to October 7.
“Relive the place where it all happened,” said a Warner TV spokesperson. “The bad jokes, the chat-up lines and the gossip.”
According to Event Magazine, the venue will include rare memorabilia from the show and will allow fans to “relive their favourite Friends moments enjoying a cappuccino on one of the famous sofas”.
Organised by Inca Productions, the event marks the 15th anniversary of the NBC comedy series, which ran for ten seasons until 2004. A new limited-edition box set featuring every series and new “extended, exclusive and unseen footage” is also being released for the occasion.
Friends launched the careers of David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry. The last episode aired on May 6, 2004 and was watched by an estimated 52.5 million viewers in the US.
Courteney Cox Is on the Prowl in ‘Cougar Town’
Courteney Cox is back on TV in a brand-new comedy — and ET talks to the former “Friends” star about playing a cougar in the new ABC series, “Cougar Town”!
“A cougar is a lady in her 40s who is going out with younger men,” Courteney tells ET. “It is not the negative [a woman who has had too much] plastic surgery in her 50s. It is really a woman with confidence that does that.”
In “Cougar Town,” Courteney plays a 40-something woman trying to get on with her life following an ugly divorce. In the first episode, her character Jules hooks up with a guy not much older than her 17-year-old son.
She is also a producer on the series, so she gets to be in on the casting sessions when they are looking for the young guys to play her prey.
“I am so glad I am producing so I can be a part of the casting sessions because there might be a character that is on for three episodes and you want to make sure that it is someone you want to kiss,” she says. “You don’t want to be stuck with someone you don’t. It is sweet and cute and nice. It is good to have control over it.”
One of the first scenes in the premiere episode is Jules examining her body in the mirror and not being happy with what she sees.
“That scene is really what I look like when I am pushing on my stomach, pulling on my arm and shaking my leg,” Courteney says. “That is what I look like when I am not lit right. It is all about lighting. I gave you a glimpse of me with average lighting. I worked really hard to look that bad.”
“Cougar Town” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.

David Arquette Dishes on Scream 4
They’re making Scream 4. And if there’s one thing David Arquette wants you to know, it’s that he really wants Neve Campbell to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott. “I would love for her to come back, it’d be a bummer if she doesn’t,” Arquette told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.
“But I also understand people’s decisions.” Filmmakers have insisted that Campbell will not return as the franchise’s main, and much tortured, character Sidney Prescott.
The film has special meaning for Arquette and his wife, Courteney Cox. The couple met and fell in love on the set of the first film, Scream.Cox has signed on for the fourth sequel as well as original screenwriter Kevin Williamson.“I haven’t seen a script yet but I know Kevin’s working on it as we speak,” Arquette told RadarOnline.com. “Hopefully we’ll start shooting in the
spring.”
