Courteney Cox ‘longing’ to see a Bollywood film

Thursday, Apr 7, 2011

Courteney Cox dazzled us with her obsessive compulsive behaviour as Monica Geller, also the mother hen of the group in the most loved American sitcom on TV — Friends — a global hit and a decade long series that became much more than just a dose of entertainment.

“Of course 10 years is a long time, but I wish we hadn’t stopped. It would have been nice to do 11,” wishes Cox as she states that she misses the show and her co-stars a lot. “I am in touch with all of them… in fact Jennifer Aniston is Coco’s (my daughter) godmother,” she adds.

Cox reveals that she has heard rave reviews of Bollywood even though she hasn’t watched one yet. “I have heard a lot about Indian Cinema and I am longing to see my first Bollywood film,” she exclaims.

The actress will be seen in her upcoming horror film Scream 4 where she shares the screen space with David Arquette (the only returning cast member in the film besides Cox), Neve Campbell, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.

Talking about her role in the soon-to-be-released horror flick, Cox says, “I am reprising my role as Gale Weathers, the journalist-turned author, but this time around she has a different perspective on the character. She wants her own fame and she always did; so 10 years later, when the murders started happening, she just wants to get really involved so she can write a book and become more famous.”

“It’s fun! She’s got a one track mind and I like that part of playing someone who’s so selfish. I think that it’s a different kind of journalism. It’s really about the fame for her,” she adds.

Having worked in the horror film franchise, Cox has gotten to take a liking towards it. “It is a genre that excites me a lot!”

Courteney Cox: ‘Dating Rumours Just A Part Of Life’

Thursday, Apr 7, 2011

Actress Courteney Cox is brushing off ongoing reports about her love life, insisting the dating rumours are just “a part of life”.

Since separating from husband David Arquette in 2010, the Friends star has been romantically linked to her Cougar Town co-stars Brian Van Holt and Josh Hopkins – and she even vacationed with the latter in St. Barts last week (ends01Apr11).But Cox insists her co-stars are just friend who have been offering her their support at a difficult time in her life.

She tells Harper’s Bazaar, “He’s (Brian Van Holt) a really good friend of mine, so I don’t care. It just doesn’t matter. He’s a great guy, and he’s definitely been a part of my support system.

‘We (Brian Van Holt and I) were doing a scene out on a dock in Marina del Rey (California), and there were pictures of the two of us. As if that’s where I’m going to go (to) have a private moment.

“How about the camera that was right there and all the cast members to the left that were completely cut out? But I’m used to it. It happened on Friends… That’s just a part of life.”

Wes Craven And Scream 4 Cast Talk Horror Franchise’s Impact

Wednesday, Mar 30, 2011

With its deft handling of humor, suspense and horror-movie cliches, the Scream franchise gave a much-needed hit of adrenaline to a flagging horror genre when it debuted in 1996. The series centers on cinema’s ultimate Final Girl, Sidney Prescott, (Neve Campbell), as she becomes the target of a set of tenacious serial killers in her small suburban hometown.

In Scream 4, which opens April 15, Sidney returns to Woodsboro as a successful self-help author on a book tour, and it doesn’t take long before she’s reunited with old friends Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers-Riley (Courteney Cox), and, of course, the latest incarnation of Ghostface.

“I think we’re all amazed that we’re in this drama, really, that is taking place over 15, 16 years. It’s just extraordinary,” director Wes Craven said last week during a press gathering in Hollywood. “I don’t know of another film that has done this, so I think we’re all pretty damn excited about being part of it.”

Arquette was visibly moved when he spoke about what the film franchise has meant to him. “I just love working with all these amazing people and, you know, we’ve developed this family not only, you know, of fellow actors and directors, but, you know, the crew — all of this crew — that we’ve shared 15 years together,” he said.

“Wes was instrumental in us being together,” Cox explained, gesturing to her husband Arquette. “He was, you know, he’s like, kind of our mentor in relationships and growing. And to come back and do it again, it was just really fun.”

Cox also confided that there was another benefit of returning to the franchise after 10 years. “I became closer with Neve during this movie than I did in the first three, and I just enjoy that girl,” she said.

Along with its cast of long-suffering veterans, the latest installment introduces the audience to a new cast of victims and suspects, including Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Emma Roberts (Unfabulous, Nancy Drew), Rory Culkin (Signs, You Can Count On Me) and Anthony Anderson (Law & Order, Transformers).

“It was lovely to have a new cast come in,” Campbell said. “They were great. They came in with great enthusiasm, and they were excited to be a part of it. And as actors I don’t think we really needed to teach them the ropes in any way. They’re all professionals in their own right and did a great job.”

Courteney Cox and David Arquette: `Scream 4 has a family feeling`

Friday, Mar 25, 2011

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have revealed how filming Scream 4 was a bit of a family affair.

The estranged couple – who met on the set of the first Scream in 1996 – talked openly about their relationship during a short press conference for the movie on Wednesday.

Asked about making the latest instalment of the horror flick, Arquette, 39, told People, ‘There’s a real family feeling. Especially with Courteney being married and having a kid (their six-year-old daughter Coco), it just brings an honesty, and that is really my favourite part of acting.’

‘It felt very natural,’ Cox, 46, added. ‘We have had 10 more years of experience of acting, so I was that much more confident. I am now a mum, and I am just different person, but it’s coming back with your family. You know each other, and you kind of just get right back into it and are better than you were last time.’

Cox plays go-getting reporter Gale Weathers, while Arquette plays her on-screen lover, Sheriff Dewey Riley, and the former Friends actress drew comparison to their real-life relationship.

‘It is so funny that he is so earnest and she is so out to get ahead,’ she says. ‘It is just a very odd pairing, and so are we. Well, we are not really, but we kind of are. I love playing Gale. She is probably the most fun to play when it comes to playing a real character.’
