Courteney Cox To Star In Charity Comedy Series In Development At Fox

Cougar Town leading lady Courteney Cox has found her next starring vehicle, a single-camera comedy from former The Office writer-producer Robert Padnick and ABC Studios.

The untitled project, which is in consideration for a pilot order, centers on Hailey (Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband’s charity and quickly finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined. James Griffiths is set to direct the potential pilot, written by Padnick. Cox, Padnick and Griffiths executive produce with Thea Mann.

The Fox project reunites Friends alumna Cox with ABC Studios, the studio behind Cougar Town, which ended its six-season run on ABC and TBS last spring. Cox made her feature directorial debut this past year in Just Before I Go, written by David Flebotte and starring Seann William Scott.<.blockquote>
