“Cougar Town” Casts Matthew Perry in Season 5

Turnabout is fair play — especially among Friends.
Matthew Perry, who lured Courteney Cox to his short-lived NBC comedy Go On last season, is repaying the favor by guest-starring on Cougar Town.

No word on who Perry is playing, but his episode is expected to air towards the end of the TBS comedy’s fifth season (bowing Jan. 7).
Perry is the third Friends vet to visit Cox on C-Town, following stints by Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston.

Courteney to Direct First Feature Film

Courteney Cox has been spending most of her time recently in Cougar Town, but she’s about to step behind the camera to direct her first feature film, Hello I Must Be Going. It’s written by David Flebotte and will star Seann William Scott and Kate Walsh. The film is about Ted Morgan (Scott), a depressed man who heads back to his hometown to right some wrongs before committing suicide. Walsh will play his sister-in-law Kathleen.

Cox isn’t the first former Friends star to try her hand at something outside the realm of traditional acting. David Schwimmer has also done his share of big screen directing, while Lisa Kudrow created an improvised comedy series called Web Therapy, which aired online until Showtime picked it up in 2011. Matthew Perry also created his own series, the comedy Mr. Sunshine, and recently produced the show Go On (though neither lasted more than one season). Most bizarre of the lot: Matt LeBlanc produced Jonah Hex, and we all know how that turned out (not great).
Finally, there’s Jennifer Aniston, who has mainly done standard acting jobs since Friends, but that seems to be working out pretty well for her. So stick to it Jen.

While this is Cox’s feature directorial debut, she has previously directed episodes of Cougar Town, not to mention the 2012 Lifetime movie Talhotblond. Hello I Must Be Going (which shares a title with an independent dramedy released last year, and as such will probably find itself undergoing a name change) starts filming later this month, so there’s no way to tell yet how it might turn out. But we do know it’s not on Lifetime, so that’s a step in the right direction already.

‘Friends’ Reunion: Courteney Cox Heads to Matthew Perry’s ‘Go On’

Monica and Chandler are reuniting … sort of.
NBC’s freshman comedy Go On is staging its first onscreen Friends reunion, with Courteney Cox checking in for an episode of the Matthew Perry comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Cox will join Perry, her former onscreen husband Chandler Bing on Friends, for an episode set to air in April. Cox play a character who meets Anne (Julie White), who then tries to set her up with Perry’s Ryan. It marks the duo’s first small-screen reunion since the Emmy-winning NBC comedy ended its 10-season run in 2004.

For Cox, who stars on TBS’ Cougar Town, the Go On guest stint also marks a reunion with former Friends executive producer Scott Silveri, with whom she worked on the series from 1996 through its final season.

This marks the latest Friends reunion for Cox, who has also guest starred on Lisa Kudrow’s Showtime adaptation Web Therapy (David Schwimmer has appeared as well). Kudrow, meanwhile, also appeared on an episode of Cougar Town during the comedy’s run on ABC, as did Jennifer Aniston, the latter of whom also guest starred on Cox’s FX comedy, Dirt. (Schwimmer, meanwhile, directed two episodes of Friends spinoff Joey, starring Matt LeBlanc.)

‘Scream 5’ not in the works, says Wes Craven

Scream 5 is not currently in the works, Wes Craven has revealed.
The director broke an extended silence on the expected project to gauge fan interest on Twitter.

“No news on Scream 5 yet,” he wrote. “You guys really want another one?”
Scream 4 debuted in cinemas last year after an 11-year break on the franchise.
It saw the return of principal stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette alongside new cast members Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Adam Brody and Marley Shelton.

There have also been rumors that MTV is developing a television series based on the Scream franchise.

Courteney New Face Of Pantene’s Expert Collection

Landing herself a new gig centered in the world of haircare, Courteney Cox has been named the new celebrity ambassador for Pantene’s soon-to-be released Expert Collection.

The “Cougar Town” actress will play frontwoman to the beauty giant’s AgeDefy and Advanced+ Keratin Repair ranges, a pair of product lines aimed at healing the effects of aging tresses.

Of her role Cox told press, “I’ve always been a fan of Pantene. I was not expecting how my hair was changing as I got older. [It] was starting to get dry, brittle and thinner.”
